When to use it

Choices inside air freight

  • Ocean transit time is too long for the order.
  • The freight is valuable and compact.
  • You need stock in another country within days.
  • Door to door

Pickup, flight, customs coordination and delivery as one shipment.
  • Airport to airport

The flight only. You or your agent handle the ends.
  • Consolidated

Your freight shares a consolidation on scheduled departures. Lower cost, fixed days.
  • Direct

Booked on the next suitable flight.

How a shipment runs

Step by step, with nothing off the record.

  1. Request

Pieces, weight, dimensions, what the goods are, and the sale terms if you have them.

  2. Quote

Air freight is priced on chargeable weight: the greater of actual and volumetric weight.

  3. Pickup and export

Road to the origin gateway. The exporter or its agent files the export information when it is required.

  4. Flight

The cargo is screened, accepted and flown under an air waybill.

  5. Arrival and customs

The importer's licensed customs broker makes the entry. The cargo is released when cleared.

  6. Delivery

Road to the door, with proof of delivery.

Documents

The paperwork, and what each document is for.

Every document is attached to the shipment record, so nobody has to ask for it twice.

  • Air waybill

The receipt and contract of carriage for air cargo. Issued by the airline or the forwarder.
  • Commercial invoice

Describes the goods, their value, the seller and the buyer. Customs relies on it.
  • Packing list

What is in each piece, with weights and dimensions.
  • Export filing (EEI)

Filed in the US Automated Export System for most exports above $2,500 per commodity, or when a license is needed. Filed by the exporter or its authorized agent.

Our role

How this service is delivered.

Air freight is planned through air forwarding partners that operate under TSA-approved security programs. The partner issues the air waybill and is the contracting forwarder. ErisWorlds does not accept or tender air cargo.

Before this service opens

  • A signed agreement with an air forwarding partner that operates under a TSA-approved security program.
  • A named partner for each lane, disclosed before booking.

Registrations, insurance and the carrier standard are published in the trust center as each one is verified.
