01
Where we stand.
ErisWorlds is preparing to launch as a logistics intermediary. It is not yet registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration as a property broker, and it does not arrange or accept shipments today. It is not a motor carrier, freight forwarder, ocean transportation intermediary, indirect air carrier or customs broker.
Until service begins, the forms on this site do three things: take inquiries about lanes, add carriers to a list for onboarding, and record requests for early access to the customer portal. None of them books, quotes or arranges a shipment.

Operating authority and registrations.
A number is shown only with its status. Where nothing is shown yet, nothing is held yet.
| Fact | Status | What it is | Where to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Registered legal name | Published here before service begins | The company that signs contracts. It must match the federal record exactly. | The business search of the state where the company is registered. |
| State of registration and entity number | Published here before service begins | Where the company is formed, and its number in that state's register. | The same state business search. |
| USDOT number | Published here before service begins | The federal identifier of every registered carrier and broker. | FMCSA SAFER Company Snapshot |
| Property broker authority (MC number) | Published here before service begins | The registration required to arrange truck transportation for others, with its status. | FMCSA Licensing and Insurance search |
| Broker surety bond or trust fund (BMC-84 or BMC-85) | Published here before service begins | The $75,000 bond or trust fund a property broker must keep on file. It guarantees payment of freight charges. It is not cargo insurance. | The same FMCSA record, under insurance and bond filings. |
| Process agent (Form BOC-3) | Published here before service begins | The agent that accepts legal papers for the broker in each state where it does business. | The same FMCSA record. |
| Ocean transportation intermediary licence (FMC) | To be confirmed before international service begins | The Federal Maritime Commission license needed to arrange ocean freight. Until one is held, ocean freight runs through licensed partners. | FMC list of licensed intermediaries |
| Indirect air carrier status (TSA) | To be confirmed before international service begins | The TSA-approved security program under which air cargo is tendered. Until one is held, air freight runs through partners that hold one. | No public register exists. The approval is shown on request. |
Complaints about any broker can be filed with FMCSA's National Consumer Complaint Database.
03
Insurance and liability.
Three different things are often confused: the carrier's liability, cargo insurance, and a broker's own insurance. Only the second one insures your goods.
- Contingent cargo insurance
- Published here before service beginsThe company's own cover for when a carrier's cargo insurance fails. It protects ErisWorlds. It does not insure your goods.
- General liability insurance
- Published here before service beginsThe company's cover for its own business. Not required of a broker by federal rules; reviewers ask for it anyway.
How responsibility works
ErisWorlds will arrange shipments; it will not carry them. Every shipment moves under a carrier's bill of lading or air waybill. That document, and the law behind it, decide what the carrier owes if something goes wrong.
Carrier liability is not insurance. It is limited, it depends on the mode and the contract, and it has conditions and deadlines. The limits are often lower than the value of the goods.
Cargo insurance is separate: a policy from an insurance company that covers your goods for an agreed value. It is not included in any rate. It can be arranged on request through a licensed insurance provider, and it exists only when you hold written confirmation of it.
| Mode | What governs | Limit | Time limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Truck, within the United States | The motor carrier is liable under federal law and its bill of lading. | The actual loss, unless limited by the carrier's tariff or a written agreement. LTL carriers usually limit it. | Set by the bill of lading or your contract. Federal law sets a floor of nine months to file a claim. |
| Air, international | The Montreal Convention. | 26 Special Drawing Rights per kilogram, unless a higher value is declared and paid for. | Damage reported in writing within 14 days of receipt. |
| Ocean, to or from US ports | The Carriage of Goods by Sea Act. | $500 per package or customary freight unit, unless a higher value is declared on the bill of lading. | Notice at delivery, or within three days if the damage is not apparent. |
| Truck, inside Mexico or Canada | Local law and the local carrier's terms. | Often much lower than in the United States. Ask how it applies to your lane. | As the local carrier's terms state. |
| Storage | The warehouse operator's terms. | As stated in those terms, usually an amount per unit. | As stated in those terms. |
If freight arrives short or damaged
Note it on the delivery receipt
Shortage or damage, written before signing. Keep the packaging and take photographs.
Tell us the same day
By phone or email, with the shipment number.
File in writing against the carrier
With the shipment details and the amount claimed, inside the deadline in the carrier's bill of lading. We help you prepare it and follow it up.
The carrier decides the claim
ErisWorlds is not the carrier and not an insurer. It cannot pay or decide a claim on the carrier's behalf.
04
Carrier compliance.
Carriers will be qualified before they receive a load: authority, safety record, insurance and identity. The written standard will be published here before the first load. These are its checks.
Authority
Active operating authority for the kind of freight and the lane, checked in the federal record.
Insurance
Liability and cargo coverage confirmed with the insurer, at the limits the standard sets.
Safety record
The carrier's safety rating and inspection history, read against the standard.
Identity
The person, the phone number and the email are matched to the carrier's federal record, to keep impostors out.
Again before each load
Authority and insurance are checked again when a load is tendered, not only at onboarding.
No screening removes all risk. The carrier remains responsible for operating safely and for the freight in its care. Loads may not be re-brokered.
05
Data and security.
Commitments and design principles. No security certification is held, and none is claimed.
Your shipment data is yours
It is used to move and report your freight. It is not sold, and it is not shared beyond the parties that perform the shipment.Access by role
Each person sees what their role needs: a shipper its shipments, a carrier its loads.Encrypted in transit
Every connection to the platform is encrypted.Incidents are told
If your data is affected by a security incident, you are told what happened and what was done.
